I believe that my mother and her obsession for order are the reasons why I am not a hoarder but a collector. A collector of almost anything, though, since a very early age. These things that I collect are all well kept and cherished, orderly organized and filed, stored away or available at arm length, but they never impede the physical course of life, as it would be in the case of a hoarder.
Similarly to the hoarder though, partaking from those things would be equal to ripping a piece of flesh off of me, and like him, the compulsion to collect is almost impossible to resist.
